New Lens

I decided to finally purchase a new lens for my Canon. I’ve had my Canon 300D digital SLR for nearly two years and to be honest I’ve never really used it too the potential it is capable of. Now I have a Sigma 55-200mm to try out.

Night Shot

When i was on my fore mentioned boat trip, i tried playing around with my digital camera to she what i could get. I tried silhouette, mirrored and night shots. The camera has no special self lighting system for night, it just leaves the shutter open for longer to allow more light in. Good job there was some kind of moon that night!

Flickr Photo Site

Every one has fallen in love with digital photo’s but you never really view like you should be able to because not every one has web space to share their treasures. I’ve started putting some of my pictures on this site under the media section and as good as SimpleViewer is it is a pain having to resize the photo’s create and thumbnail and modify the xml for the album.
I’ve looked at sites like photobucket and stuff but none really grabbed me with a lot of interest, until I found Flickr. I’ve noticed a few other bloggers using it and after a few days messing about I decided to purchase a pro account, for a total of £15 I can host as many photo’s as possible (there is only a 20gb monthly bandwidth limit) you can upload via email, even upload direct to a blog if needed but the real trick to me is being able to export direct from my iPhoto library to the web space without any need for modification.
I think I’m gonna try using my Flickr space as it saves my bandwidth and see how things go.

The 7th is Pickle day

Recieved one of my weekly email updates from Muriel Barnes last night and she has passed on the comments of:

Just a quick line to let you know that your baby is getting along fine.? The attached pic was taken this morning after breakfast, although Pickle doesn’t actually have any now, she is offered supper only as is getting quite good at eating on her own now……….so she should be O.K. for collection? next weekend (7/8 May).?

This is great, only a couple of weeks and finally the parrot we have been watching grow can finally join us.
