Tiger is unleashed

It looks like the wait is over, the release date for Tiger has been confirmed. Placing a pre-order with tha Apple store will mean your copy will arrive for the 29th. Now I only have one question, do I upgrade on the day? All the nice new feaures of Tiger are appealing but can I done with the standard broken apps and corrupt permissions that are always there during a upgrade. Got a bit of time to think about it I guess…

You can smell the fur

Following on from my last post about Tiger, check out this link from Apple Insider. Yep they are still working on updates to Panther but the news about the first maintainance update to Tiger, 10.4.1 looks mighty interesting.

Be very quiet, I’m hunting Tigers.

OSX 10.4 - Tiger
That’s right I’m searching the internet, the news feeds and even under the fridge for any information to the latest release of OSX. According to the Apple website it is due for release the first half of 2005. But on April the 1st, it was announced to have ‘gone gold’ This is bascially the final, final release, it has been passed by everyone and is now ready for producing, packing and shipping. Sites were even claiming it would be in stores by the 15th, Amazon.com have it down as a pre-order!
Some might say ‘look at the date, they are yanking your chain!’ well I’m not convinced, last year on April 1st Google anounced this idea of doing webmail and called the service gmail, no one really laughing now?
I’m sure this was all genuine and that Tiger is not far away it just remains to see how far, now do I pre-order from Amazon or wait and see what happens…

Quiet and iLife05

It’s been a bit quiet on the site of late, I think this is just things catching up with me. Easter was a tiring time with Lucy’s birthday thrown in. Too many dark days and bright nights were enjoyed but now I need rest.
The only interesting item to post about was I purchased iLife05 from Apple. Because I only got my G5 at the beginning of the year (two days before the release of iLife05), Apple are running a nice upgrade scheme to which I took part in. I have to admit the only app I really use is iPhoto but will test the rest and see what they are like.
