101% True Geek Now
Last night was the final straw, I am now a complete geek. I had my shopping delivered from web to door!
I will be honest I’m not a big fan of grocery shopping, it is so mundane. Added to this I am slowly developing a phobia of the local Tesco’s store; I’m fine in Waitrose, in fact I love going there. But apart from an organic soft cheese spread Waitrose do not have much in the way of sandwich fillers. Tesco’s on the other hand do a great range of chunky sandwich spread’s.
Sorry I digress, this should be about geek life-style not sandwich fillers!
Anyway due to a lot on my plate at present it was decided that Lucy and I would try out the Tesco home delivery. After a quick sign up and a tour round the shop we were off.
It probably took longer than expected but once we are get to know were the virtual bread aisle is we will be fine. At the checkout a 7-9pm delivery window was scheduled and life carried on.
True to their word the man with a van turns up and our shopping is delivered, what a time saving exercise.
Now all I need to do is find a way for friends and family to be delivered to the door and I can live in piece in my interweb world.
Long live the Poisson Rouge
“je suis un poisson rouge”
That is the limit of my French speaking skills. And I have no idea where I got that from!
Yet I’ve just come back from a weekend in France and some how I managed to get food and water. Ok I was with people who have a better understanding on the language than I do.
Around 4 years ago my parent’s bought a small converted barn/cottage in Northern France; just North of Boulogne Sur Mer. I have been over there a couple of times but since no renewing my passport for the last 3 years I’ve not left the comfort of the British Isles.
Now I have a new Passport I thought I had better stretch my legs and see what France had to offer. For one it was a beatiful day on Saturday, so our walk round Boulogne was very pleasant. Second was the awesome selection of Cheese’s on offer. Finally there was the idea of ‘getting away from it all’, worth the trip on it’s own.
It was only a quick trip, just a day to spend out and about and we spent it looking around Old Boulogne. New Boulogne was built outside the orginial town walls. Where as the old town is still in it’s roots inside the walls, along with the Catherdral.
I am not a religious person by any stretch but you can not ignore the buildings used as places of worship, coupled with that the French Architecture which in my mind is eyeopening at the best of times and I was lost for the afternoon. More photos from the day.
I’ve forgotten what it was like to spend a few days away from everything and just unwind. However it is now Monday and the phone is ringing…
No CommentsWhat a birthday present
Today is my younger brother’s; Sean’s birthday. He turned 26.
After all the usual stuff you get for birthday’s these days he was given the best possible news. His partner Sarah had her 20 week scan and it looks to be he will be having a little baby daughter later in the year.
I guess congratulations are in order, on both accounts. Happy birthday bro and good luck with your new journey into parenthood.
I know I promised fewer birthday posts but this one sort of felt important.

If you are a regular you will notice a complete lack of activity. If your a new visitor; don’t worry you have not missed much!
To be honest I’m not sure what has happened to me or where my motivation has disappeared to but it has definitely gone somewhere, even my Flickr account has been very quiet. Since last month I have reached one of those ‘crossroads in your life’ stages. You know the ones where you have to sit back and work out where it is you want to end up and how you go about getting there.
Problem is I’m not sure where or how I want to head and I think it is causing some unrest and no doubt the divining factor in my lapse.
Last week was actually a holiday from work, which was probably long overdue. However I spent most of the time catching up with with much overdo work around the house, (One of which was to create a little patio area # for the garden) when I should have really been trying to find some enlightenment to the situation.
I really need just a few days to clear my head and work out the little bugs which are currently driving to distraction. Problem is there are so many things that need urgent attention that time to reflect is only a pipe dream at present.
How can you find time to make time?
No CommentsGone Off The Rails

Whoops! In the last couple of weeks I have really let myself slide, I’ve gone off the rails and so far I’m carving a nice little single track though the land of Unhealthy looking for some where to stop. Thats right I’ve hit the beer and smokes pretty bad lately!
I blame Kevin next door, since he has found a new sense of single freedom I felt guilty for not helping him make the most of it. Plus he was the first one to start offering me cigarettes!
Or is it Dave’s fault because he left me here to indulge in these dirty habits whilst he went off to watch the Tour and climb Mt. Ventoux, well done by the way!
Maybe it could be Lucy for actually buying the cigarettes and making sure there was no reason to stop.
Whatever the reasons might be, there is only one person to blame; myself. But then I think everyone needs to loose the plot a bit. It helps with finding direction.
Time to clean up and sort myself out, I’m not going to have Mr. Ventoux kick my ass round Suffolk when he returns!
